Cal Poly Pomona, College of Agriculture - Sensor Web 3.1
Sensor Webs are ideal for monitoring environmental conditions effecting plant growth in areas that are not as easily controllable as those
of a greenhouse. Studying the effects of microclimates on plants will allow scientists to better understand the ways in which
to optimize yield and quality. Each pod measures light levels, air temperature and humidity, with optional measurements of soil
temperature and soil moisture. In addition, battery levels for each pod can be monitored for diagnostic purposes.
We have partnered with Cal Poly Pomona to study the effects of microclimate on plant growth, in particular, lettuce growth.
This deployment also tested the technology in a hot, dry outdoor environment very different from previous deployments.
